I bought Usborne’s Book of Face Painting for my 8 year old daughter for Christmas. This book contains a multitude of different face painting designs from animals to monsters. Pirate’s to Princess’. Vampires to Angels’.

At the start of this book it gives the reader plenty of information about face painting. This information varies from testing the paint to ensure you don’t react, to what type of brushes and sponges to use. It then goes on to explain how to apply the face paints and the different techniques to use.

Each design is then set out on it’s own page giving the reader step by step instructions to achieve the desired design. It also sets out all the colours you will need in your palette.

On the last few pages of the book there are blank designs. These are for the reader to create their own designs. It even has a palette to fill in to give the colours to use.

My daughter who is 8 loves this book. She is able to follow the instructions with ease and with the step by step instructions create some intricate designs. Along with this book I bought Snazaroo Face Paint Ultimate Party Pack for her. This is a fantastic set to accompany this book and has everything in it to get started with face painting.

Overall I would recommend this book both for children and adults alike.
